We are seeking a Principal Physicist in our Broomfield, CO Location.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will apply deep knowledge and experience in trapped-ion quantum computing or quantum information science to advance the state of the art.
- You will conceptualize new technologies, methodologies, and processes.
- You will provide vision and expert technical guidance to multiple, concurrent technical projects in trapped ion quantum computing.
- You will be responsible for providing direction for research and developing plans defining the direction of the team.
- You will work alongside teams of scientists and engineers to bring new concepts to life.
- You will perform and guide design trade studies and analyses.
- You will present scientific results at conferences or in publications.
- You will be responsible for providing direction for research and developing plans defining the direction of the team.
- As a high-level technical authority, you will engage with collaborators, prospective customers, and high-level management
- PhD completed prior to starting
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience (post-PhD) involving one or more of the following areas: quantum information, qubits, atomic physics, or precision spectroscopy.
- Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
- Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
- Experience with design or operation of a device for quantum information processing.
- Expertise with quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, or quantum verification and validation
- Experience performing simulation and modeling to inform experiments.
- Experience securing funding, establishing research collaborations, and identifying business opportunities.
- Experience planning and providing technical guidance to multiple, concurrent technical projects.
- Established technical authority in your field of research, evidenced by multiple publications, chairing committees, and invited speaker presentations.
- Experience developing intellectual property.
