Primary Activities & Responsibilities
- Make (e.g., fabricate, machine, weld, paint, assemble, prepare to ship) proof of concepts, prototypes, and pre-production, and photoshoot units under the direction of the engineering team.
- Fabricate parts as needed using CNC and hand plasma cutter, welder, lathe, mill, brake press, and other machine tools as necessary.
- Machine parts with limited drawings, sketches, and computer models.
- Manage R&D shop area and resources for speed of prototyping/testing (keeping the area clear, clean, and organized); ensuring material and equipment is ready for use and available.
- Assist production in launch of new products, creating jigs, fixtures, and other support material.
- Help brainstorm product design and manufacturability.
- Assist with the loading of trucks and trailers for support of testing new products as requested.
- Assist with production fabrication and assembly as needed.
- Assist in the onboarding, training, and continuing education of production welders.
- Skillfully create parts and assemblies that allow ideas to be evaluated efficiently.
- Assist in the testing and verification of components and products keeping the customer in mind.
- Support Production in meeting their goals during busy seasons.
- Continue to grow in professional skills by reading, studying, and trying new approaches to problem solving.

- Proven work experience as a welder, fabricator, engineering technician, or similar role
- Extensive knowledge of and experience in industrial technology
- Proven ability to complete full research and development cycle (brainstorm, proof of concept, prototyping, pre-production build, production release)
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must have the ability to stand, sit, kneel and climb for eight hours of the workday.
- Must have the ability to safely lift 55 pounds.
- Must be willing to work full-time, in-house.
- Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
- Ability to talk or hear to communicate with others via phone, in-person, and/or computer.
- Ability to listen to customers/vendors/colleagues, problem solve, and respond accordingly.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Must have valid drivers license and ability to operate tractors, ATV’s, skid loaders, and other equipment as needed.
- The employee is exposed to a manufacturing and warehouse environments with moderate to loud noise as well as office environments with moderate noise.
- The employee is required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment while working in the warehouse or manufacturing environments.
- Travel: Less than 5%.
