About The Role

The Operations Manager has a key leadership role focused on maximizing the efficiency and profitability of our organization's day-to-day operations, with a strong emphasis on striping and pavement marking services. This person will collaborate with the General Manager to develop and execute operational strategies, streamline processes, and meet quality standards across all departments, including striping crews. The ideal candidate will be a data-driven problem-solver with an eye for detail and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee field and job operations, including striping and pavement marking projects, to ensure efficiency and adherence to company standards.
  • Ensure on-time job completion and execute quality control activities on all projects, with special attention to striping precision and compliance.
  • Monitor route compliance and address any inefficiencies, especially in striping scheduling and logistics.
  • Enforce safety standards to maintain a secure work environment for all employees, including those on striping crews.
  • Report all General Liability (GL) claims and incidents per company policy, including striping-related incidents.
  • Manage personnel and scheduling to optimize labor usage across all departments, including striping teams.
  • Approve daily time entries and ensure compliance with labor regulations for all crews, including striping personnel.
  • Address customer concerns with the support team to maintain client satisfaction, particularly regarding striping quality and accuracy.
  • Track inventory and report supply usage, with a focus on striping materials such as paint, thermoplastics, and traffic control equipment.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and inventory management for all operational assets, including striping machines and related tools.
  • Ensure timely procurement and replenishment of materials and supplies, especially for high-demand striping projects.
  • Partner with the General Manager/Branch Manager to develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the company's overall goals and vision, including growing the striping division.
  • Identify and analyze current business processes, recommending and implementing improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience across all service lines, including striping.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze operational data, and prepare regular reports for the General Manager, including metrics specific to striping operations.
  • Identify potential risks or bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services while optimizing costs, including striping material vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices, including local, state, and federal striping standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in a striping, pavement maintenance, or construction-related industry.
  • Proven track record of successful process improvement and efficiency initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to interpret data for informed decision-making.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience in team building and mentoring.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant operations management or striping project management software.

Compensation for this position is $100,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on experience.
