Position Summary

Envision is seeking a dynamic Communication Specialist / Manager to enhance our outreach and engagement with key stakeholders, including donors, employees, program participants, and the broader community. This role will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that align with Envision’s mission and brand. The ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller, an excellent writer, and a digital-savvy professional with a passion for making an impact.

Key Responsibilities And Functions

  • Develop and execute strategies to strengthen communication with key stakeholders, including donors, employees, and program participants.
  • Create compelling content for various communication channels, including social media platforms, email campaigns, and newsletters to promote Envision’s programs, services, and marketing campaigns.
  • Manage the day-to-day upkeep of Envision’s digital presence, including social media, websites, and other digital platforms.
  • Collaborate across departments and programs to gather information and create mission-driven content.
  • Facilitate online conversations with followers, responding to messages and comments to foster engagement.
  • Write press releases and support media outreach efforts, including pitching stories and coordinating interviews.
  • Develop talking points and scripts for key events and executive communications.
  • Provide communications support for key events, including developing promotional materials, drafting event messaging, and assisting with logistical needs related to communication materials and signage.
  • Collaborate with event organizers to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all event-related content.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.

Education

JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in communications, content creation, or public relations.
  • Nonprofit experience is a plus.

Technical Proficiency

  • Experience with content management systems, social media management tools, and analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with MailChimp or similar email marketing tools is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills Required

  • Strong storytelling abilities with experience creating content across multiple formats and platforms.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a demonstrated ability to write convincingly.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and interviewing skills to gather and develop compelling stories.
  • Proficiency in social media management and content strategy.
  • Experience with media relations, including writing press releases
  • Knowledge of branding and ability to maintain consistency across all communication channels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving and research proficiencies.
