Position Overview
Hawaii's leading inter-island transportation company seeks an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer to serve as a key business partner to the President and executive team. This is a highly collaborative role that goes beyond traditional finance leadership to bridge operations, financial planning, and organizational strategy. With a $200M+ revenue base and a unionized workforce, the company plays a critical role in supporting Hawaii's supply chain and logistics infrastructure. The CFO will help shape long-term financial direction, partner with operational leaders, and present regularly to a mainland-based board of directors.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the President and executive leadership team
- Lead all financial functions including treasury, capital planning, accounting, FP&A, and financial reporting
- Oversee IT, supply chain, and procurement functions
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and bridge finance with operations
- Present to the board of directors and collaborate with mainland stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements
- Lead enterprise budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning efforts
- Guide development and maintenance of internal financial tools and models
- Strategic financial leadership in operationally driven environments
- Strong board-level presentation and communication skills
- Financial modeling, forecasting, and capital planning
- Cross-functional collaboration across operations, legal, and compliance
- Union workforce exposure and labor-aware financial decision-making
- System oversight experience, including ERP and data/reporting platforms
- 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
- 7+ years in executive finance roles
- Background in transportation, logistics, utilities, or other regulated industries preferred
- Bachelor's degree required; CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing finance teams
- Comfortable managing both strategic direction and tactical execution
