I. Position Purpose
Trillium is seeking a data-driven and analytical Inventory Analyst Intern to join our team for a hands-on learning experience in inventory management, cost accounting, and data science applications in supply chain operations. Reporting to the Cost Accountant, this role will work closely with the Materials Inventory Team to analyze inventory levels, track variances, and leverage data analytics, AI, and machine learning to optimize stock accuracy and cost efficiency. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to data-driven decision-making in manufacturing and supply chain management.

Compenstion Range: $20.00 - 25.00 hourly

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze inventory transactions, variances, and cost impacts to support financial reporting using data analytics tools.
- Collaborate with the materials team to conduct cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and improve inventory accuracy using AI-driven insights.
- Support the cost accountant in evaluating inventory valuation methods and cost allocation strategies with data science techniques.
- Develop reports and dashboards to track inventory trends, anomalies, and key performance indicators (KPIs) using Excel, Power BI, Python, or SQL.
- Leverage AI and predictive analytics to improve demand forecasting and inventory optimization.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve inventory issues affecting production and order fulfillment.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives by applying machine learning and automation to inventory control systems.
- Assist in documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory management processes.
- Provide ad hoc support for audits, month-end closing activities, and AI-driven efficiency projects.
- Qualifications & Skills:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong data analytics and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Experience in Python, R, SQL, or Power BI for data analysis.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics as applied to supply chain and inventory management is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas); experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a hands-on role.
