Essential Duties

Is responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with HR Manager and other departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

Participate in new hire orientation, safety orientation, employee recognition programs, and all benefit orientations.

Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Head up OSHA reporting, accident investigation, and insurance claim reporting through Work Comp carrier.

Participate in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Assists with maintaining files of hired employee characteristics for company and regulatory purposes.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. At least one to three years of human resources experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Must be proficient w/ Minitab and/or Excel.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations preferred.
