Description

Job Title: Tech 2 Network Services - Infrastructure Specialist

Position Function: The Network Infrastructure Specialist provides support for all areas of the IT Network ecosystem; Maintaining a high level of knowledge and operational ability regarding network security, cloud and on-prem infrastructures, collaboration tools, identity management, device management, network monitoring, disaster recovery strategies, highly-available LAN/WAN deployments and internet connectivity. Keeping up with current trends and innovations and understanding how they live within an educational environment is required.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

  • Manage and support secure access to the network with MFA, identity, and access solutions.
  • Manage and support Cisco Routing.
  • Manage and support Cisco Switching, VLANs, ACLs.
  • Manage and support Switch closets; replace, repair, troubleshoot network issues.
  • Manage, test, and support fiber and copper connectivity.
  • Responsible for efficient development and operations within the Cisco Identity Services Engine.
  • Responsible for efficient development and operations within Cisco DNA.
  • Manage and support enterprise wireless access and technologies.
  • Manage and support on-prem devices such as servers and networking equipment.
  • Manage and support on-prem services such as DNS and DHCP.
  • Manage networking and identity technologies both cloud and on-premises; to scale and provide the performance needs of mission critical workloads.
  • Understand IP based networks and lead in-depth troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Document processes and teach IT tasks and skills to other employees.
  • Test backup processes with regular restoration and validation.
  • Deploy and Support Network Monitoring Platforms.
  • Manage, deploy, and support Cisco network equipment with a deep understanding of routing & switching, firewalling & Wi-Fi technologies.
  • Manage and support safe, secure, and highly-available access to the internet with web filtering and traffic inspection technologies.
  • Perform software and hardware maintenance, upgrades, and periodic testing to ensure the security, stability, and performance of all IT systems.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the CIO and Network Supervisor.

Travel: Occasional in-district and out-of-district travel is required.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Strong leadership, troubleshooting and teamwork skills as well as an extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and other technology applications (including maintenance and repair of various kinds of computer hardware and an understanding of a variety of software packages) are vital.

Employee Punctuality And Appearance

  • For schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave.
  • Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee’s supervisor or building administrator.
  • All employees must report to work dressed in a way that reflects a positive image of USD259 and is appropriate for their position.

Qualification Profile

  • A High School Education or GED equivalent is required.
  • Minimum four (4) years' experience in IT management with a focus on Cisco Systems.
  • Cisco certifications with knowledge and experience on a large enterprise level preferred.
