SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Nurse Manager or clinical Director

Description Of Position/Responsibilities And Duties

  • Works under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
  • Communicates appropriately with patients, visitors, and staff, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Performs unit tasks in an effective and timely manner.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and efficiency in computer and clerical skills.
  • Gathers and distributes information to clinics as assigned and in timely manner.
  • Orders supplies and maintains nurses' station in an orderly, neat manner.
  • Documents legibly according to hospital policy and ensures messages are written correctly.
  • Utilizes equipment appropriately (printer, computer, telephone, fax machine, etc)
  • Schedules and reschedules patient appointments as needed and directed by clinical staff.
  • Keeps accurate filing of documents for the clinic
  • Assist with ordering and keeping the supplies organized.
  • Is knowledgeable of and aware of the PI plan for the department.
  • Demonstrates an awareness and implementation of National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Makes suggestions/recommendations for improved operations.
  • Follows established hospital/department safety policies.
  • Understands and appropriately responds to the unique combination of cultural variables that professionals and patients/individuals bring to interactions.
  • Attends all required scheduled meetings

Education And Work Experience

  • High School Diploma/ GED
  • Ability to read, write and speak intelligible English; Ability to communicate with patients, family, peers and medical personnel; Basic math skills.
  • Be cooperative and be able to work in other clinical areas as assigned
  • Requires emotional stability and resilience; Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrates foresight; Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations and conflict resolution..
