Job Summary

A Quality Control Technician in the Cryogenic Manufacturing Industry is responsible for ensuring that cryogenic equipment and components meet stringent quality standards throughout the production process. This role involves inspecting, testing, and verifying materials, parts, and finished products to ensure they function properly. The technician will work with specialized equipment and collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance Manager, and engineering and production teams to identify potential issues, troubleshoot defects, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Attention to detail, ability to acquire knowledge, and work independently are key to success in this position.

Job Description

  • Conduct inspections and perform tests on cryogenic equipment and components including valves, gauges, tubing, reliefs, check valves, strainers, filters, and regulators in manifolds and gas systems to ensure they meet design specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Perform quality checks during all stages of manufacturing, from raw materials to finished products using provided drawings and bill of materials.
  • Utilize specialized tools and equipment to verify material integrity and pressure resistance.
  • Document test results, identifying potential defects or deviations from quality standards, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Manager, and engineering and production teams to resolve issues, optimize manufacturing processes, and improve overall product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations, safety standards, and company policies related to cryogenic manufacturing.
  • Assist in developing and refining quality control procedures tailored to cryogenic systems and components.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on quality control testing equipment to ensure accuracy.
  • Uphold compliance and assist with the completion of the oxygen cleaning process.

Competencies

  • Experience with quality control testing and inspection tools in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and troubleshoot defects in complex systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and implement improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document findings and collaborating with teams are required.
  • Competent computer skills. Working basic knowledge of Outlook email, excel, word, etc. to complete data entry required.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year as a quality control technician
