The Interceptor and Sensor Technology Group is dedicated to advancing sensor and interceptor technologies for future surveillance, missile defense, and air defense systems. Our multidisciplinary team is currently engaged in the development of next generation capabilities for air, missile, and hypersonic defense architectures. Particular focus is given to assessing adversary capabilities and researching novel technologies in the context of the defense kill chain. In addition, concepts will be prototyped, tested, and matured in support of Department of Defense efforts.

Job Description
Data Analyst and Machine Learning Researcher
We are seeking a talented analyst to join a team supporting a portfolio of programs focused on data analysis, threat assessment, and algorithm development. In this role, the candidate will support the analysis of experimental data leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) and physics-based techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with a highly collaborative team to develop, research, and analyze concepts for next-generation defense technology solutions.
- Assess adversary capabilities to inform defense requirements
- Analyze laboratory, ground, and flight data to draw out insights to inform technology development and government acquisition strategies.
- Integrate with algorithm and AI/ML research programs and develop tools and applications for next-generation defense capability. Some focus areas include:
- Physics-informed machine learning
- Computer vision, 2-D to 3-D object reconstruction, pose estimation
- Sensor data/signal interpretation, e.g., Radar, Infrared, etc.
- Bayesian techniques, e.g. Simulation-Based Inference
- Model optimization and fitting
- Benchmark and assess algorithm performance in the context of Warfighter needs and the missile and hypersonic defense kill chain.
- Communicate findings and progress with technical and non-technical audiences, including peers and sponsors.
- Proven analytical skills as evidenced in academic research or internship projects.
- Extensive experience analyzing experimental data.
- Experience in interpreting real-world sensor measurements.
- Experience applying AI/ML to data analysis (e.g. time-series, imagery)
- Familiarity with industry-standard AI/ML implementations (e.g. CUDA)
- Demonstrated programing skills in MATLAB, Python, R, or C++
- Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems both individually and as part of a team
- Capability to set and achieve personal and project goals in a timely manner.
- Significant initiative and ability to perform independent research, set, and meet critical milestones.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Data Science, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Minimum GPA of 3.7.
