Your New Role At Bend Bioscience
In this role, you will act as a Business Partner to Site Leadership, providing relevant financial information and insights to support decision-making and achieve objectives. You will lead the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function, support strategic transactions and other critical business functions and oversee cost accounting and capital spending processes. You will also support the annual audit process.
Leads FP&A Function
Supports external audits, SOX compliance and public reporting in areas including, but not limited to, standard cost and variances, inventory and capex.

Your New Role At Bend Bioscience
In this role, you will act as a Business Partner to Site Leadership, providing relevant financial information and insights to support decision-making and achieve objectives. You will lead the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function, support strategic transactions and other critical business functions and oversee cost accounting and capital spending processes. You will also support the annual audit process.
Leads FP&A Function
- Responsible for the timeliness, credibility, and reliability of business plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Supports long-term financial and strategic business planning, including the five-year plan
- Leads FP&A analysis process, with input from required stakeholders to ensure accurate forecast assumptions, such as customer forecasts and ongoing interactions with department leaders.
- Conducts in-depth financial analysis to identify key performance indicators (KPIs), and financial performance trends and drive overall company performance through the operating management system mechanism.
- Ensures management reporting is provided within prescribed deadlines and establishes processes to facilitate this.
- Provides insight and support for proposed mergers and acquisitions (M&A), debt and equity deals and other strategic transactions
- Manages and negotiates risk management insurance programs
- Makes business improvement recommendations and tracks risks and opportunities.
- Provides timely and accurate support for customer proposals.
- Prepares and delivers presentations to executive audiences and creates models to evaluate transactions
- Improves, maintains, and oversees cost accounting systems, appropriate for the needs of the business, that will deliver timely, accurate, and relevant information to management.
- Ensures delivery of high-quality cost reporting, including gross margin and variance analysis.
- Responsible for delivery of accurate valuations of inventory and fixed assets.
- Oversees capital expenditures to ensure they are financially justified.
Supports external audits, SOX compliance and public reporting in areas including, but not limited to, standard cost and variances, inventory and capex.
What You'll Bring To The Role
- BS/BA degree in Finance, Accounting or Business is required. An advanced degree (MBA) is highly preferred. CPA or CMA preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of related work experience in a medium-sized company is required. Experience within the Pharmaceuticals industry is preferred, specific experience with a CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing organization) is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of direct people leadership experience is highly preferred
