Job Overview

AZ Grading & Underground is seeking an experienced Grading Operator to join our team. This role involves operating motor graders and other heavy machinery to ensure accurate grading for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fine grading, site preparation, and GPS-controlled grading systems to achieve precise elevations and slopes.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Operate Gannon, Motor Graders, and other equipment to perform grading, leveling, and over-excavation work on construction sites.
• Utilize GPS grading systems and laser levels to ensure precise slope and elevation measurements.
• Read and interpret project blueprints, site plans, and grading specifications.
• Perform fine grading for roads (dirt and ABC subgrades), pads, and drainage systems to meet project standards.
• Ensure proper compaction for pads and streets.
• Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on assigned equipment.
• Work closely with owners, project managers, foremen, and crew members to complete grading tasks efficiently.
• Identify and communicate necessary adjustments to grading plans to supervisors.
• Follow all company and industry safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience operating motor graders and working on grading projects.
• Strong understanding of grading techniques, including fine grading, rough grading, and ABC subgrades.
• Familiarity with GPS-controlled grading systems and laser leveling equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and staking instructions.
• Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and quality control.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor as needed.

Schedule: Full-time, 4 days a week (Monday - Thursday, 10-hour shifts) with potential overtime on Fridays when necessary.

• Projects across Arizona, primarily in the Phoenix Metro Area.
