About The Role
Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, the Process Engineer will be passionate about consumer products, manufacturing, working closely with production, R&D leaders and project managers this individual will be responsible for driving the successful technical transfer of personal care and cosmetic products from the R&D lab to full scale production

About The Role
Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, the Process Engineer will be passionate about consumer products, manufacturing, working closely with production, R&D leaders and project managers this individual will be responsible for driving the successful technical transfer of personal care and cosmetic products from the R&D lab to full scale production
What You'll Do
- Provide manufacturing standards including batch cycle time, batch sizes, processing equipment, and identifying processing challenges that may arise during scale up process for costing/pricing of new formulas.
- Develop and maintain processes to monitor pilot/scale up and on-going production batching to minimize process issues, including implementing batch restrictions and process recommendations
- Responsible for leading the rework and troubleshooting of out of spec batches including implementing salvage solutions, as well as developing and formalizing corrective action to prevent the issues from reoccurring
- Responsible for developing and managing a change control program including process validation and equipment validation maintenance
- Support engineering and compounding modification of existing equipment adding design justification purchase and implementation of new equipment
- Work with Compounding to help develop, train, and implement process and safety requirements
- Responsible for the commercialization, scale up and manufacturing qualification of all formulations between R&D and Production for all new products developed in house and from third party/partner technical transfers
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes for all formulas to ensure consistent product quality
- Optimize existing processes to enhance cost efficiency and improve overall production performance
- Manage and maintain process instructions for all approved formulas
- Responsible for leading, coordinating and executing pilot batches between R&D, Manufacturing and Operations. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Production, and Quality Control and Partnerships, to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration:
- Responsible for the transition of assigned products from development into production and assuring that manufacturing processes for product meet expectations regarding product cycle times, quality levels and costs.
- Analyze and recommend product design changes for ease of manufacturing to reduce cost, improve quality, or reduce time to market.
- Develop capability and establish processes through trouble-shooting and problem-solving production/mechanical issues. Anticipate possible issues that prevent or hinder production from achieving maximum throughput.
- Establish and maintain test specifications and equipment for finished goods, sub-assemblies and components.
- Develop manufacturing processes for new products & validate the processes by performing PILOT runs.
- Liaison between plant personnel and engineering to help facilitate improvements in productivity, cost, quality, and ease of manufacture
- Lead Lean events and processes and Kaizen teams focusing on productivity improvement, cost reductions, and maximizing potential revenue
- Responsible for IQ/OQ/PQ of all equipment in the manufacturing plant.
- Over 5 years of proven success in process engineering in the cosmetic industry or related manufacturing concern; Direct experience in contract manufacturing is highly preferred
- Highly effective communication and collaboration skills
- Must be incredibly well organized, detail oriented and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- A natural curiosity and excellent problem-solving skills with thorough understanding of root cause analysis
- Bachelor’s Degree
