About The Role

  • Westwin Elements is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support the design, construction, and operation of America’s first nickel refinery. This role will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of plant infrastructure, including process buildings, equipment foundations, and support structures. The Structural Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to oversee design, construction, and maintenance efforts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Design, analyze, and evaluate structural systems for industrial facilities, ensuring they meet operational and safety requirements.
  • Work with civil and mechanical engineers to integrate structural designs with process equipment and piping systems.
  • Conduct load calculations, stress analyses, and material selection for various structures within the refinery.
  • Review and approve structural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Oversee structural inspections, assess existing infrastructure, and recommend modifications or repairs as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, industry standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI), and safety regulations.
  • Support project management teams during construction, providing guidance on structural integrity and problem-solving on-site issues.
  • Collaborate with contractors, fabricators, and construction teams to ensure efficient execution of structural designs.
  • Assist in risk assessments and structural failure investigations, implementing preventative measures as needed.
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer License and Structural Engineer License is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in structural engineering, preferably within heavy industrial, mining, or refining operations.
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis software (STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar).
  • Familiarity with steel and concrete design codes (AISC, ACI, ASCE).
  • Experience working on large-scale industrial projects, including plant structures, foundations, and equipment supports.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other structural design tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and provide solutions for structural challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.

The Pay Range For This Role Is

130,000 - 160,000 USD per year(Lawton Plant)
