America’s Favorite Jeweler, Ross-Simons (a division of Luxury Brand Holdings) is seeking a Merchandising Assistant (based in our Cranston, RI office). The Merchandise Assistant provides administrative support to Merchandise Director. Through this role, the Merchandise Assistant will learn the operational side of the business, develop strong cross-functional partnerships, and begin to gain the skills crucial to progression within the merchandising field.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for SKU creation across multiple established systems, working with jewelry items.
- Responsible for transferring merchandise internally between our photo studio, repair & service team, stores or vault.
- Preparation of samples for gemology and photography departments.
- Preparation of vendor merchandise returns.
- Work with vendors on onboarding, images, and sku maintenance
- Evaluate existing processes for efficiency opportunities and produce new, technology driven processes.
- Support inventory preparations tasks.
- Internal and external problem solving and communications.
- Stay organized while pivoting and refining as priorities evolve over time
- Maintains market awareness and in-depth knowledge of the product categories.
- Work cross functionally with gemology, photography, marketing and distribution teams to support administrative tasks.
- Understanding the merchandising process and product lifecycle.
Experience and Required Qualifications
- Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Fashion Merchandising preferred or equivalent years of experience.
- Previous merchandise experience or merchandise internship strongly preferred or one year of retail experience preferred
- Quick study and self-motivated in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational, attention to detail, and multi-tasking skills required
- Strong communication (written & verbal), presentation, negotiating and influencing skills
- Systems and Computer savvy, proficient in MS office, Outlook, Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot tables)
