Description

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking a Cook to join our Food Service Department. The Cook will perform a variety of tasks to prepare nutritious meals following the National School Lunch Program guidelines. They will be responsible for preparing large meals, up to 120 people at one time. Other duties include cleanup before, during, and after meals as well as any and all needs associated with running and maintaining a well-functioning kitchen. They will be required to maintain a food safety standard such as ServSafe at all times. This position includes great benefits with 9 paid holidays. They will be required to work weekends.

The Residential Campus at The Buckeye Ranch was founded in 1961 and has expanded our home environment to nine residential houses with 93-beds and 200 employees. The Residential Campus, a division of The Buckeye Ranch, offers behavioral health and child welfare programs across a wide continuum of care. We proudly serve over 5,000 children and families annually, with a strong foundation in family centered, trauma-informed care.

What You'll Do

  • Opens kitchen for preparation of meals daily and organizes workspace to ensure it is maintained in a presentable, reasonably well-organized way which contributes to efficiency and wise use of space.
  • Meal preparation for clients, staff, and more.
  • Prepares the correct amount of food with minimizing food waste for each meal

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • You have a high school diploma, or equivalent
  • You have at least 1 year of food service experience
  • You can cook large quantities of food; read and follow recipes
  • You have an active driver's license
