Job Duties
- Answer phone calls and take information from clients to direct them to appropriate attorney.
- Call clients to obtain information regarding their file to accomplish specific tasks related to their case.
- Receive and reply to client inquiry emails.
- Maintain in-house client files and open new case files online.
- Prepare engagement letters.
- Obtain information from clients, process all new corporations, maintain client businesses.
- Draft estate planning documents and assist in probate processes.
- Prepare/record real estate closing documents and assist in eviction procedures.
- Proofread documents for attorneys before sending to clients.
- Prepare correspondence to opposing attorney(s)/firms.
- Legal research when requested.
- Handle vendor requests.
- Responsible for billing.
- Maintain notary public status.
- Dictation when needed.
- Provide remote assistance to attorney in Omaha.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Maintain a high proficiency level in Microsoft Office Suite applications, Adobe Acrobat, and ShareFile.
- Experience with managing, processing, and maintaining electronically stored information.
- Ability to handle legal documents and other information with confidentiality and professional discretion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; command of grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.
- Knowledge of legal principles and practices at a level normally acquired through formal training or experience.
- Display a strong client service and team approach.
- Ability to problem solve, work independently, and balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or similar field required.
- Certified Paralegal certification from NALA-The Paralegal Association preferred.
