Cutting Room – 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
Job responsibilities also include, but not limited to:
- Shear orders or in-process materials as required to meet customer specifications
- Set machine to level orders or in-process materials as required to meet customer specifications
- Assist slitters to coil material
- Use lift equipment to move and position material as necessary
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain high quality standards
- Assure consistent product quality through established production methods and techniques; understand cause and effect of process variables on final product
- Recommend improvements to safety and housekeeping procedures following the JSA procedures
- Maintain equipment in safe and efficient operation by working closely with maintenance department. Identify preventative maintenance routines
- Maintain work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition
Job responsibilities also include, but not limited to:
- Load material onto proper mesh belt annealer per instructions. In the anneal log book, record ingot number, type of material, time and temperature of anneal, production order number and the time that material enters the annealer entrance door
- Unload material from mesh belt annealer. Put finished or annealed material information in computer system for next stations. Weight and record material on annealer weight sheet
- Load material into roller hearth. In the anneal log book, record ingot number, type of material, time and temperature of anneal, production order number and time that material enters the annealer entrance door
- Load finished products for flattening and stress relief annealing process
- Unload material from roller hearth. Weigh and record material on annealer weigh sheet. Record width and length for saw finishing plate records
- Wash material through wash sink from tension mills.
- Use lift equipment to move and position materials as necessary
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain high quality standards
- Assure consistent product quality through established ISO production methods and techniques; understand cause and effect of process variables on final product
- Maintain equipment in safe and efficient operation by working closely with maintenance department. Identify preventative maintenance routines
Job responsibilities also include, but not limited to:
- Process all hot-rolled material by etching in nitric, HF and caustic tanks per set company specifications in order to improve surface quality
- Brush or sand cold-rolled material to remove any contaminants or surface imperfections created by rolling in order to meet or exceed company and customer specifications
- Shear and sand copper and nickel clad for canning for #1 Mill
- Shear all material, both hot- and cold-rolled, to facilitate further processing or to meet customer requirements
- Level all hot-rolled material to guidelines set by company and customer requirements
- Shear finish orders to customer specifications
- Collect and record samples from mixed acid and HF tanks. Evaluate specimens and adjust acid levels according to company specs
- Use lift equipment to move and position material as necessary
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain high quality standards
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Position demands the ability to use basic arithmetic and to interpret and adhere to specification requirements
- Ability to communicate proficiently both orally and in writing using the English language
- An understanding of basic measuring equipment (micrometers, dial calipers and dial indicators) and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Business needs and trade compliance requirements mandate that this position be held by a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
