This is an off shift position.
At Belden we take pride in keeping our facility a safe place to work. As plant guard, you will play a key role in
maintaining the security of the plant while satisfying needs of customers internally and externally and often providing
clerical services.
Checks, identifies and allows only authorized persons to enter the plant
Issues badges to authorized visitors (Groups, Customers, Suppliers, Service Workers, Contractors, Retired Employees, etc.)
Checks outgoing packages for authorized employee’s package pass
Answers inquiries or gives direction to visitors, answers phone calls
Issues employee purchases and obtains signature on receipt
Makes frequent plant fire and security rounds
Makes special security checks and/or audits as requested by the supervisor
Checks all reports of fire, smoke, material misuse or damage, building leaks, prowlers or any other unusual reports and records and maintains log of such occurrences
Assumes position of Fire Chief on night shifts, weekends and holidays
Accepts absentee calls and records and reports same, renders first aid, calls ambulance in the absence of the nurse or Health Service Department
Maintains cleanliness of immediate work area
May perform other responsibilities such as: Lock-up, unlock, audit/test numerous pieces of fire protection equipment, emergency lights/exits, parking lot tickets, and flag flying
Makes out reports and theft/vandalism reports
Good disposition, perform duties in a professional manner and appearance
Contacts employees, venders, sales representatives, visitors, etc.
Four weeks training is typical
Performs all other duties as assigned
