The Legal Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to attorneys and paralegals, assisting in the preparation and organization of legal documents, filing documents on Case.net and PACER, managing case files, and ensuring efficient office operations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.

This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
Responsibilities
Document Preparation and Management:
- Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, motions, and correspondence.
- Organize and maintain legal files, both physical and electronic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Prepare and file documents with courts and other legal entities, adhering to strict deadlines.
- Manage document retrieval and production for discovery and other legal processes.
- Maintain case calendars and schedules, tracking deadlines and court dates.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all necessary documents are readily accessible.
- Assist in the preparation of trial notebooks and exhibits.
- Answer and direct phone calls, taking accurate messages and providing information to clients.
- Schedule client meetings and appointments.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal cases.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and faxes.
- Maintain office supplies and equipment.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings and travel arrangements.
- Perform general clerical duties, such as photocopying, scanning, and filing.
- Input billing and time keeping information.
- File documents with courts and other legal entities.
- Retrieve documents from courts.
- Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal court rules and procedures.
