Position Summary
The Director of Medical Education (DME) will oversee and manage all aspects of the hospital’s medical education programs, including Graduate Medical Education (GME), Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), medical student training, Continuing Medical Education (CME), and the operation of the simulation lab. The DME will also be responsible for overseeing visiting medical students and pre-medical students shadowing opportunities. The DME will collaborate with clinical departments, faculty, and hospital leadership to ensure high-quality educational programs that meet accreditation standards and foster a culture of excellence in medical education.
EDUCATION
Work will be completed primarily in an office setting. Occasional evening or weekend hours required for meetings, trainings, or special events. Perhaps some discomfort due to noise and crowded conditions. A moderate amount of stress at times. Involves sitting, standing, and bending. Collaborative environment with opportunities for professional development.

EDUCATION
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field required.
- Additional training, certification or education in medical education, public health, or related field preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in medical education, with a proven track record of managing GME and UME programs.
- Experience in leading CME initiatives and using simulation-based education.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards (ACGME, LCME, AMA, ACCME, etc.).
- Prior experience in an academic medical center or community hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and mentoring abilities.
- In-depth understanding of educational principles and adult learning theory.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in educational technologies and simulation-based learning.
