Environmental, Health, and Safety Project Manager Specialist is needed to support the Hill Air Force Base (HAFB) Little Mountain Test Facility (LMTF) Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Program (ICBM) Program out of Ogden, UT. The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist develops, plans, implements and assesses EHS management systems, testing, and processes per Boeing and US Air Force requirements. Leads EHS related interactions with regulatory agencies, US Air Force and Boeing leadership. Evaluates new technologies and processes to develop strategies and tactics for reducing workplace hazards and environmental impacts. Provides inputs to EHS related education and training materials and facilitates EHS related training classes to support regulatory and business requirements. Supports vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and programs. Leads EHS related program reviews, investigates incidents, develops corrective action plans and reports results to internal and external customers. Regularly contributes to the development of new job practices, techniques, and standards. Ensures solutions are consistent with Boeing and Air Force objectives. Evaluates, interprets and advises on the impact of emerging issues, regulations and legislation to site operations. Drafts local EHS programs that provide consistent approaches to risk reduction and compliance. Works with management to facilitate risk management decisions. Participates on teams to implement and maintain EHS process to support new business requirements. Supports internal customers on EHS processes, programs, issues and requirements. Reviews vendor, contractor and supplier activities for EHS compliance for site processes and program goals.

LMTF Site Environmental, Health, & Safety Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a high level of safety consciousness among employees to instill/maintain a safety culture in the workforce and leadership
  • Work with internal and external customers including the Air Force and others to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local rules and regulations related to safety and health
  • Perform worksite audits, inspections, and evaluations of all operations
  • Assist in design reviews for new and modified facilities, processes, equipment, and tooling for safety-regulated compliance to help ensure the safety of the employees and the process
  • Assist with monitoring for potential health hazards in the workplace including: Chemical, Particulate, Noise, Ventilation, Heat Stress, Ergonomic, etc. Perform Industrial Hygiene assessments for new chemicals (e.g., determine appropriate precautions and PPE requirements, etc.)
  • Supports and leads tasks that include, but not limited to, environmental hazardous waste management, hazardous materials handling and storage, storage tanks, air quality and site inspections of all mentioned environmental protocols.
  • Provide written reports and documentation to management with recommendations to proactively eliminate or reduce workplace hazards. Assist in implementation of actions given
