Summary:
Develop and implement a Global Health Program, Infectious Disease Fellowship, and develop a medical school curriculum design and management.
Responsibilities
- Designs and implements a Global Health Tract for all residencies at WCHN.
- Designs and implements a Global Health Tract for Pediatric and Family Medicine residents of UVM rotating at WCHN.
- Trains chief residents and oversees Faculty Development sessions for Hospitalist Faculty.
- Chairman rounds as needed by Department of Medicine (4-5 times per year).
- Monthly Inter-department Conferences.
- Bi-weekly Audio-Video Patient Focused rounds with UVM.
- Initiates and manages a comprehensive global health rotation and an exchange program in Kazan Russia, Uganda, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti.
- Designs and implements a course in Tropical Medicine. Designs and implements a "Global Health" Curriculum.
- Curriculum supervision and management for UVM students rotating at WCHN. Provides mentorship for chief residents and junior faculty.
- Provides oversight for the general direction of Lyme research.
- Supervises selected infectious disease research projects of residents and supervise the research activity of global health program.
- Creates partnerships and linkages with UVM faculty interested in scholarly activities within the global health program.
- Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
