Additional Position Details:
The Metabolic Bariatric Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, management, and continuous improvement of the hospitals accredited Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Program (MBSAQIP). This individual ensures the program is compliant with MBSAQIP standards, facilitates the delivery of high patient care, and works closely with the multidisciplinary team to provider pre-operative, peri-operative, and post operative care to bariatric patients. The bariatric program coordinator is integral to patient education, program development, data collection, analysis of data, and process improvement initiatives to ensure optimal outcomes and patient experience.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
- 2 years recent clinical experience is required
- Some experience in adult education program development; sufficient management skills to ensure good communications skills; good orientation and leadership qualities also required
- RN: Registered Nurse licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) required upon start
- BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon start
- CBN: Certified Bariatric Nurse, preferred
- Ability to problem-solve, interpret, and deal with a variety of variables by using critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated program development with adult learning teaching skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to represent department to the public and internal customers through actions and behaviors
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to age/type of population served
- Ability to provide patient and community education
- Ability to work independently while functioning effectively in a teamwork-based environment with co-workers, patients, families and health professionals.
