The turnpike spans 236 miles and plays a crucial role in Kansas' transportation infrastructure.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Structures Worker at the Kansas Turnpike Authority located in Lawrence, KS. The Structures Worker will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing the structural components of the turnpike, including bridges, overpasses, and related infrastructure. The worker will also assist in the construction of new structures, perform routine maintenance checks, and respond to structural emergencies as necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience in structural inspection, maintenance, and repair
- Skills in construction, including using various tools and machinery
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Relevant certifications or training in structural work is a plus
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor as required
- High school diploma or equivalent
