Your New Role At Bend Bioscience

In this role, you will be responsible for processing data in one or more specialized fields of accounting to support the Manager, Accounting.

Essential Functions (other Duties May Be Assigned)

  • Inputs and maintains accurate financial data, both manually and using IT systems, and may also prepare schedules, analyses and reports based on that data
  • Utilizes pre-determines processes and procedures to coordinate tasks with others on the team
  • Performs research of historical company transactions as required
  • Completes scheduled monthly and/or quarterly tasks timely using the MS Teams platform or other company-supported platforms
  • Documents and performs regular control activities such as collecting authorizations, checking work of self and others, and other control activities in support of an effective accounting and reporting control environment in accordance with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and related guidance.
  • Gathers and provides support for audit selections, interacts with auditors and otherwise supports the company’s audit programs as required.
  • Responds to inquiries via email, text messaging and phone and other means and escalates or resolves issues timely and professionally.
  • Supports manager by performing various other accounting-related tasks, as requested.
  • Provides backup support to other members of the accounting team during scheduled time off.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree or equivalent in accounting with no prior experience or no degree with 1-2 years of experience.
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Work experience with the applicable specialized field is preferred
  • Able to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) products and ability to utilize the Internet
