Responsibilities
- Adhere to all Palmer goals, strategies, and values.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with Palmer Polices and state and federal laws.
- Role model appropriate behavior, professional boundaries, respectful communication, and personal appearance in accordance with Employee Dress Code.
- Check each document for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness in accordance with Palmer’s Policies and Procedures.
- Sort and correctly file each document to appropriate file. Open and close consumer charts.
- Maintain the associated logs and records in accordance with established priorities and procedures.
- Maintain Consumer’s medical records according to HIPAA, 42 CFR, ODMHSAS and CARF standards.
- Assure information contained in records is complete, accurate and only available to authorized personnel.
- Assist in all consumer file audits and accreditation surveys.
- Conduct internal file audits to verify all files are complete. Communicate missing items with treatment provider and director.
- Participate in ongoing in-service education programs and staff development programs.
- Maintain knowledge of agency policies, procedures and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Director.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Previous experience in record keeping and clerical tasks
- Excellent Computer skills include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Precise attention to detail
- Previous experience working in a treatment or medical setting, preferred
- Ability to lift 30 pounds, sit for up to 8 hours/day, view computer screen for up to 8 hours/day.
- Job requires twisting, lifting, standing, sitting, walking, stretching, kneeling, bending, and squatting.
