Position Overview

The PLL is seeking a talented rising professional for a PR and communications internship. Interns will work directly with the PR & Communications Manager, along with our content and marketing teams to prepare press materials for the league, manage credentialed media at events, identify opportunities for earned media coverage, and pitch stories about the league, teams and players to press. This is an independent contractor role estimated at 40 hours per week that will require a self-starter mentality and a strong desire to make an impact for the league’s sixth season.

Qualifications

  • Current or previous communications or journalism undergraduate
  • Must have strong writing and editing skills
  • Hard worker who is a “doer” first; must be ready to roll sleeves up
  • Highly motivated and eager to make an impact on the organization
  • Willingness to travel to select tour stops
  • Lacrosse background and knowledge of the league is a plus
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Ability to travel

Requirements

  • Manage media credential request form
  • Build targeted media lists for pitching
  • Coordinate onsite press logistics
  • Check in media and manage game day requests
  • Assist with post-game press conferences
  • Conduct media outreach in PLL tour stop markets
  • Draft press releases for major league initiatives and events
  • Prepare media recaps for major announcements and competition weekends
  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation

  • $15 per hour
