Description

Summary:

The DBA manages enterprise databases by installing, configuring, and maintaining instances and patches. Ensures optimal database performance through monitoring and collaboration with application development and infrastructure teams. Implements and maintains system security in keeping with corporate policies. Troubleshoots system issues with a focus on minimizing downtime. Executes changes in accordance with audit and appropriate process requirements.

Essential Job Duties

Provide database support for all assigned systems:

  • Review and resolve tickets submitted to the database team
  • Work on special projects as required, such as archiving, upgrades, encryption, etc.
  • Observe overall system performance and learn to identify anomalies
  • Stay informed of database version/patch releases and new functionality
  • Monitor and manage backup/recovery
  • Assist application development teams with SQL development best practices
  • Maintain documentation

Reporting Relationships

  • Works under general supervision
  • Reports to Sr. Manager, Global Database Administration

Requirements

  • 5 years database administration experience in SQL Server and/or Azure SQL Database
  • Availability during normal working hours (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM ET)
  • Provide on-call support as scheduled (including after hours and in support of multiple time zones), and escalate issues to management as needed.
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
  • Proficiency in SSRS, SSIS, SSAS
  • Visual Studio knowledge (including Integration Services and scripting)
  • Familiarity with GitHub
  • Additional RDBMS administrative experience (ASE, MongoDB, Synapse, Postgres, HANA)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for long periods of time
  • Ability to handle high stress at times
  • Ability to travel, as required by business needs

Compensation

Total compensation range $110,00 - $115,000

Actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on a number of variables including work experience, education and skills/ achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer. This position is not eligible for a variable pay component as part of the hiring range.
