The Senior Buyer will play a key role in optimizing our supply chain on an international scale by creating strategies that are key differentiators to the competition and enable Wilbur Curtis to maintain competitive advantage. The role will apply analytical and strategic thinking skills to develop long-term sourcing strategies, execute complex sourcing activities fully in line with the category buying strategy for materials or services in any market category. Utilizing world class sourcing, tendering, negotiating and contracting tools & techniques. The Sr. Buyer will support the price risk management process and develop coverage strategies to protect the Supply Chain.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • CollaboratewiththePurchasingDirectorinthedevelopmentofregularcoveragestrategiesandexecute themagainsttheseusingafullrangeof priceriskmanagementtoolsandPurchasinglevers
  • Supportandexecute againsttheresolutionof criticalmaterial shortages escalatedto Purchasing
  • Understandtheentirevaluechainofthebuyingportfolioandcollaboratewithandchallengesupplierstocontinuouslyimprovecostmodels
  • Usemarketintelligencetoformulatebuyingplansforpartsportfolioandsupportthecontrolofsupply&priceRisks(PPV&Availability)
  • UnderthedirectionofthePurchasingDirector,partnerwithFinancetodevelopprocessesanddataminingpracticesthatmeasurePPV,TCO,VCAforpricingactionsandarbitrage
  • Proactivelyworkwithinternalstakeholdersondevelopingandmodifyingspecificationsthatare“fitforpurpose”,cost-effectiveandsupporttheinnovationpipeline
  • Ensure compliance to Global Responsible Purchasing Charter
  • A general understanding of hedging and the concept of commodity options and are able to execute
  • Initiate and support the tendering process lever to secure RFP/RFQs to gather and benchmark supply chain options
  • Enforce contractT&Cs,hold non-compliant or vendors in violation to account
  • Experience : 7+ years of experience in a similar role with progressive growth and scope of responsibilities.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field.
  • Key Skills: Strong negotiation, contract management, Vendor Management and Market knowledge of commodities.
  • Traits: Strong Leadership and Communication, Strategic Thinking and Planning, Problem Solving.
