100% on-site, split between 3 locations (Two sites in College Park and one site 20 miles northeast near Hanover, MD)
This role will maintain onsite presence and representation for IT services acting as the hotel IT engineer for the applications, systems and infrastructure the company architects, deploys, manages and maintains. Be the representative for ESP (NexusTek) at the assigned hotel(s) delivering exceptional customer service and responsiveness.
Who you are
You are a highly skilled and experienced IT professional with a strong background in network and server infrastructure. You excel in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, routers for internal routing, ISP connectivity, and MPLS deployment. Your expertise extends to business and enterprise-class wireless solutions, both private and public cloud-based networking solutions, and virtual networks. You are proficient in managing business and enterprise-class servers, including virtualization with Microsoft and VMware hypervisors, as well as storage systems such as iSCSI and fiber-connected systems. Your capabilities include handling domain controllers, file servers, print servers, application servers, and remote access servers. Additionally, you possess knowledge of VoIP and support for UC deployments, including VLAN, routing, and QoS support. You have a proven track record of leading teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Attend daily standup managers meeting – meet with hotel management team to discuss current issues, ongoing projects, budgetary items. Exercise discretion and independent judgement on significant issues and plans for the hotel assigned. Be a part of the Hotel Management team. Apply unique knowledge and expertise of hotel applications and systems to maintain the highest levels of uptime, availability and performance.
- Consult with customers (on-site) on all technical support issues - this includes but is not limited to specification of software applications and or equipment requirements. Make independent decisions and recommendations
- Network Troubleshooting/Management – creation of VLAN’s, port assignments, wireless network design (creation of SSID’s and specific subnets). This also includes overall management and troubleshooting of Internet service coming into the hotels.
- Firewall Troubleshooting/Management - content filtering rules/whitelisting, IPS/IDS rules/whitelisting, access-list creation, etc.
- Microsoft 365 and Entra management – account creation, lic assignment, etc.…
- Local Active directory administration - account management, permissions, DNS, GPO creation.
- Hotel Application troubleshooting/management – troubleshooting highly specialized issues related to hotel systems (PMS, POS, Key, Central Reservations, Credit Cards, Energy Management, etc.…). This also includes management of PMS interfaces and some DB administration.
- Technical Documentation – creation and on-going management of all technical site documentation.
- Server Troubleshooting/Management – provide troubleshooting of server OS’s, hardware, etc. This also includes the creation of new virtual servers when requested from vendors.
- File/Server Restorations – in the event of a failure independently performs file/server restoration from nightly backups.
- UPS/Generator Testing – work with the hotel engineering staff to test UPS systems and transfer to generator in the event of a power failure
- Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Employment Agreement, Company policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and professional standards.

- Office 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Azure Active Directory, Intune/Endpoint Manager)
- Azure IaaS and Azure Virtual Desktop
- E-mail Spam Security and Filtering Solutions
- Modern File projects and migrations
- Microsoft Windows 2012 – present
- Microsoft Exchange 2010 – present
- Networking technologies basic switching, firewall and wireless configuration and troubleshooting
Pay and Benefits:
This is a full-time position located in the United States and performed on-site.
Estimated Starting Salary/Wage Range: $85,000-100,000 annually, less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis (The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure [for existing employees] skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role. Note that the majority of individuals in the position will fall in the low to mid-level of this scale; the upper end of this pay scale is offered only in exceptional circumstances and/or for unusually qualified candidates.)
