A prominent Long Island law firm, is seeking an Associate for its Banking/Commercial Lending group in East Meadow, NY.
Responsibilities
- Representing (or assisting the supervising attorney with the representation of) financial institutions in connection with various loan facilities, including mortgage loans and asset-based financings
- Collaborating on the review and negotiation of all due diligence, including drafting and negotiating commitment letters, drafting and negotiating loan documents, review of title, review of organizational documents, review of lease agreements and contracts and preparation of modification documents
- Conducting closings on behalf of the lender and overseeing all aspects of post-closing review
- Representing (or assisting the supervising attorney with the representation of) financial institutions in connection with assignments of mortgage, including preparation and negotiation of assignment documents, review of collateral documents and coordination of closing with Borrower's counsel and title
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution
- Admissions: New York State Bar (Required); New Jersey State Bar (a plus)
- Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to network and willingness to collaborate
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work with all levels of management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- 3+ years of experience
- Commercial/residential real estate lending experience preferred

- Salary - $125,000 - $175,000 (commensurate with experience)
