Job Overview
APTIM is currently seeking a Staff Engineer or Project Engineer for our Solid Waste Services Group in the Concord, California area to support our exciting portfolio of projects. This candidate will conduct field inspections, compliance monitoring and reporting, and construction quality assurance.

APTIM is currently seeking a Staff Engineer or Project Engineer for our Solid Waste Services Group in the Concord, California area to support our exciting portfolio of projects. This candidate will conduct field inspections, compliance monitoring and reporting, and construction quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Evaluating geologic and hydrogeologic conditions and providing analyses
- Perform groundwater, leachate, stormwater and landfill gas sampling and testing
- Preparing and completing regulatory compliance reports, work plans, and special studies
- Conduct data entry and statistical analysis
- Communication of technical concepts, evaluation results, plans, reports, etc. during work team meetings; ensures conformance to applicable technical standards as well as company policies and procedures
- Collaborating with other team members
- Coordinating with contractors and clients
- Conduct field inspections and construction quality assurance oversight
- Coordination with the field team and laboratory to prepare sampling paperwork and bottle orders for sampling events
- Work may periodically involve oversight during the installation of monitoring wells and supervising other field tasks
- Providing other duties as required.
- Physical work the ability to lift 50 pounds will be required
- Possess a "Safety First" work ethic
- BS or MS in Engineering.
- Possession of Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- 2 to 8 years of experience, including experience in compliance reporting
- Ability to work on multidisciplinary projects
- Excellent oral & written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Self-starter and problem solver
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations
- Ability to wear proper PPE for work on hazardous waste sites
- Landfill / Solid Waste experience a plus
- Licensed State of California Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer a plus
- Previous experience working with the California State Water Resources Control Board a plus.
- Possession of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher certificate a plus.
- Knowledge of statistical evaluation methods (Sanitas software knowledge a plus)
