Ameritex Machine and Fabrication is a high mix low volume sheet metal and structural fabrication facility that uses a variety of equipment such as CNC Fiber Lasers, CNC punch presses, CNC press brakes, and tube lasers to support over 19 production and assembly lines. The company serves customers in energy, oil and gas, automotive, electric vehicle, and aerospace. We operate out of a state of the art 100,000 sqft facility in Conroe, Texas.
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Machine Programmer to join our innovative, fast-growing company. You’ll be a member of our flexible Programming team, contributing to the design of new cutting-edge products. To be successful in this position, you should have hands-on experience using CAD software & machine nesting programs with a strong attention to detail and a creative flair. It’s also important that you have rock-solid project management skills to meet the daily demands of the role.
Essential Duties
Though this professional needs to complete his/her work during the standard routine hours, he/she might need to be flexible at times and extend beyond the normal hours to do the work which needs to be completed on a priority basis.

Essential Duties
- Programmer will be responsible to meet and exceed standards set by estimating department while utilizing equipment to its fullest capabilities
- Validating that the program processes through the machine tool with desired quality and safety to equipment.
- Read blueprints to determine characteristics required to program.
- Maintains a safe, clean and orderly work area in compliance with facility housekeeping policies.
- Wears required safety equipment and follows the equipment safe operation procedures.
- Developing machine tool programs from provided files to run on the designated machine tools.
- Make machine & tooling selections to manufacture parts in the most cost-effective manner.
- Utilize CAD/CAM software to continuously improve run time and programming time.
- Familiarity of computerized nesting software preferred.
- Responsible for making and optimizing laser, punch, and tube laser nests. Also responsible for press brake programs.
- Two to four years of experience with CAD Software
- Two years of experience in working with fabrication shops
- Full understanding of weld symbology
- Proven experience using CAD software with a strong knowledge of SolidWorks
- Knowledge of structural integrity is preferred
- Good understanding of safety standards and environmental impact of a design
- Ability to present in front of stakeholders and managers
- Great computational and spatial ability
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Attention to detail
