Are you passionate about philanthropy and making a difference through your work? We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Assistant Director of Philanthropy. This role is integral and will be responsible for driving our philanthropic efforts and reinforcing our commitment to making a positive impact in our community. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, has a deep understanding of the nonprofit sector, and possesses excellent leadership skills. This position offers an incredible opportunity to work with a dedicated team and engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including board members, sponsors, and donors.

The ideal Assistant Director of Philanthropy is someone who is in an individual contributor position and looking to grow and move into leadership. This position is one that will be very hands on but is also a role they are hiring for as a succession plan/long term hire. This is currently a $3M nonprofit and will continue to grow tremendously YOY. The ideal Assistant Director of Philanthropy can think outside the box and is creative, as well as the go-to face for donor development and relationship building. As this company is very entrepreneurial, someone who can work in a fast paced environment and thrive in organized chaos would be a perfect addition.

This position and this organization is all about building authentic partnerships and is looking for someone who shares that vision. The ideal Associate Director of Philanthropy is someone that can run galas, events, philanthropic initiatives, who is very detail oriented and can come on board and hit the ground running! There is 10-25% travel for this role.

The salary range above does not include bonuses.

Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic philanthropic initiatives in alignment with the company's mission and vision.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of event planning, from conception to execution, ensuring that each event supports our philanthropic goals.
  • Oversee grant management, including sourcing and applying for grants, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and reporting to grantors.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with board members, sponsors, and donors, ensuring their continued support and engagement.
  • Ensure effective governance of our philanthropic initiatives by developing and implementing policies and procedures, and monitoring their adherence.
  • Manage and track donations, ensuring that all donations are properly recorded and acknowledged.
  • Oversee the management of our foundation, ensuring that it effectively supports our philanthropic initiatives.
  • Utilize Salesforce to track and manage donor information, donations, and other relevant data.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that our philanthropic initiatives are integrated into our overall business strategy.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven experience in philanthropy, mission and vision development, event management, grant management, board and sponsor relations, governance, donation management, foundation management, and Salesforce.
  • A strong understanding of the manufacturing industry.
  • Exceptional leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. A master’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
