Position Summary: The Rivers Casino and Resort Finance Internship Program is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful and practical work experience related to a student's education or chosen career path.

License Type: Non-Gaming

Pay Rate: $17/hour

Essential Job Functions

  • Welcome team members and guests in a professional, courteous, and expeditious manner as they enter the Human Resource office while ensuring overall excellent service
  • Assist with proper and timely completion of all onboarding paperwork including but not limited to new hire packet, New York Gaming Licensure Packet, I-9, W4, etc.
  • Responsible for completion of data entry as directed
  • Responsible for receiving, date stamping and ensuring the proper flow of paperwork within the Human Resource Department
  • Responsible for answering HR phone lines and responding to voice messages
  • Responsible for maintaining the Human Resource bulletin boards/handouts
  • Responsible for the department inventory and ordering of supplies
  • Responsible for distribution of team member communication including creation of flyers and other materials as needed
  • Responsible for receiving, sorting and distributing the Human Resource mail daily
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining files of appropriate reports, records and other information
  • Assist as needed with team member events
  • All other duties as directed or assigned
  • A project will be assigned during internship and must be concluded by the end of the internship and may include some or all of the following
  • Research
  • Learning about competitors
  • Figuring out better systems or processes
  • Creating a presentation
  • Final review of internship

Qualifications

  • Must be 21+ years or older
  • Interest in recruiting and/or Human Resources
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • Excellent computer skills required Microsoft Office, Publisher, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must be able to work with high volumes of confidential information in a professional manner
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate with team members and guests
  • Ability to be a TEAM player
  • Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed both in an office and on the casino floor in a smoke-free environment with frequent walking, standing and prolonged periods of sitting a desk and working on a computer
  • Regularly required to see, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
