Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all maintenance and repairs to production equipment and facilities as required to preserve operation.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all maintenance and repairs to production equipment and facilities as required to preserve operation.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain production equipment to meet the production schedule.
- Ensure proper and efficient operation of the building – including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, chemical handling and other support systems using work orders and job scheduling.
- Develop preventive maintenance schedules on all major areas along with Engineers.
- Purchase supplies/parts for equipment as needed with authorization of General Manager/VP.
- Contract and communicate with suppliers and service companies for activities which cannot be done efficiently in-house. Final approval by General Manager/VP prior to signing contracts is necessary.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance procedures, manuals, contracts, sources, work orders and related documentation.
- Control issuance of keys and maintain key locker.
- Maintain logs for maintenance of equipment under his ownership and building support systems.
- Organize and operate the maintenance department in an orderly manner.
- Upon demands of production/building maintenance, be available to make pick-ups for parts, etc.
- Help out in general maintenance and pick up supplies from vendors when necessary.
- Snow removal of all exterior sidewalks, doors and receiving dock area as needed, and salt areas to keep free of ice. Other outside duties as required.
- Perform other duties as needed to support customers, manufacturing processes and Quality System. This includes following procedures, work instructions and completing all related documentation.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or experience in HVAC, electrical or mechanical maintenance or related field.
- Math and basic number skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), use of decimals and fractions.
- Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb and reach.
- Three (3) or more years of experience in machine and facility maintenance.
