Summary
Responsible for assisting with activities associated with tissue processing. These areas include, but are not limited to, cleaning, cutting, culturing, and packaging of tissue for transplant.
Shift/Hours: Friday-Sunday, 6:30AM – 7PM
Responsibilities
Extended hours may be necessary during peak processing periods. Working environment temperature may vary from 68 degrees F. Hazardous conditions include, but are not limited to, the use of Ethylene Oxide, Hydrochloric Acid and Alcohol in the work area. The potential of exposure to and the possibility of obtaining cuts and/or punctures to skin from sharp instruments and equipment. All necessary safety equipment and instruction will be provided.

Summary
Responsible for assisting with activities associated with tissue processing. These areas include, but are not limited to, cleaning, cutting, culturing, and packaging of tissue for transplant.
Shift/Hours: Friday-Sunday, 6:30AM – 7PM
Responsibilities
- Ability to circulate in operating room setting.
- Thorough knowledge and comprehension of aseptic technique.
- Create clear and accurate records as it relates to the proper documentation of processing procedures.
- Adhere to established protocols set forth in the LifeLink Tissue Bank Standards and Procedures Manual.
- Participate in continuing education courses and seminars as they relate to the Tissue Bank.
- Attain basic knowledge and understanding of equipment and instrumentation being used for processing.
- Assist in the preparation of all sterile work areas and supplies needed for various stages of processing.
- Observe environmental conditions and report deficiencies to supervisor.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clean room disinfection and cleaning including but not limited to ancillary areas and class 100 clean rooms.
- Ability to recognize basic microorganisms present in human tissue.
- Basic knowledge of central services sterilization processes and techniques.
- Attain a thorough understanding of procurement recovery, zoning and sequencing.
- Learn and understand Allowash process and procedures for various tissue types
- Ability to circulate for various areas within the processing department.
- Ability to enter basic data in the BTM system.
- Ability to pass random manager, supervisor and Quality Assurance observational audits as necessary for the Tissue Tech Assistant position.
- Work requires an Associate Degree in Allied Science (LPN, ORT, EMT, CST) or;
- Work requires a High School diploma.
- Work requires the ability to work with craftsman type equipment and tooling.
- Work requires the ability to stand for ninety percent of the work time.
- Work requires the interpersonal ability to interact with fellow staff members, supervisors and management.
- Work requires the visual acuity and manual dexterity necessary to prepare tissue for clinical use in an aseptic manner.
- Work requires the physical ability to lift and carry equipment varying in weight from one to thirty pounds ten percent of the work time.
- Work requires basic computer skills.
