As an Avionics Technician at Impulse, you'll have the opportunity to assemble, test, rework, and integrate harnesses, electromechanical assemblies, and printed circuit boards. You will work closely with production & design engineers to deliver critical avionics for our first spacecraft builds. Join our growing team and help build next-generation spacecraft electronics!
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble harnesses and electromechanical assemblies for flight and development applications
- Perform PCB rework and apply polymerics (conformal coat, etc) to assembled PCBs
- Work side-by-side with engineering in a fast-paced environment
- Execute brand-new processes, interpret engineering intent, and provide feedback to help improve documentation and planning
- Read, interpret, and work from drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and other controlled documentation/processes
- Perform verification testing of flight hardware and document results in a clear, precise and complete manner
- Support projects that improve the operational efficiency of the avionics production area
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of experience using electrical and mechanical hand tools within a production environment
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience working on vehicles of any kind, such as cars, planes, rockets, spacecraft, drones, or boats
- Demonstrated experience fabricating wire harnesses in a production environment
- Demonstrated experience with soldering
- Ability to adapt to changing work assignments and thrive in an agile work environment
- Self-motivated and excellent attention to detail
- 6+ years of demonstrated experience working on spacecraft or launch vehicles
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with multi-meters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power supplies, hi-pot testers, or other electrical test equipment
- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to distinguish colors is required
