We are seeking an Engineering Design Lead – Bakery Plant Construction & Expansion to support the design and planning of our bakery facility projects. This role involves managing technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation while collaborating with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project execution. Work Location:
- Remote until the Lancaster, Texas facility is built, then on-site or hybrid
- Position requires up to 50% travel to Bridor manufacturing sites, including domestic travel within the U.S. and potential international travel to France and Holland

We are seeking an Engineering Design Lead – Bakery Plant Construction & Expansion to support the design and planning of our bakery facility projects. This role involves managing technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation while collaborating with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project execution. This is an opportunity to directly contribute to Bridor’s U.S. growth and be at the forefront of our expansion efforts.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Planning
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive design database for new and expanding production lines
- Gather, review, and organize specifications and design selections for greenfield projects
- Work closely with Project Managers, Process Engineers, and the broader engineering team to ensure designs align with operational needs
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to drive project timelines and address on-site technical challenges
- Participate in the installation and commissioning of capital projects, incorporating real-time feedback into design updates
- Ensure all designs comply with food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and sanitation standards
- Play a pivotal role in Bridor’s expansion into the U.S. market, leading groundbreaking bakery plant construction projects
- Gain hands-on experience in high-impact capital projects, enhancing your technical design and project management expertise

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with strong knowledge of food processing operations
- Minimum 5 years of design and engineering experience, specifically in industrial construction and expansion projects within the food manufacturing sector
- Food manufacturing background and experience is required
- Expertise in facility expansion, process optimization, and sustainable construction (Greenleaf experience is a plus)
- Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM software, and project management tools
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and establish technical design selections, regulations, and standards
- Experience creating and managing technical design documentation and manuals
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and sanitation standards
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address on-site technical challenges
- Must be able to travel up to 50% to other Bridor manufacturing sites, including some international travel to France and Holland as needed
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary, multi-site global projects in a fast-paced environment
- Background in industrial or food processing design with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
