As the Respiratory Therapist at Williamsburg Village Healthcare Campus in DeSoto, TX, you will work cooperatively and effectively with co-workers and other hospital personnel to provide quality respiratory services and support for residents in facility. Complies

Essential Functions

  • Knowledgeable and capable of utilizing oxygen equipment including: humidifiers, nebulizers, spirometers, suction equipment, Bipap/Cpap/AVAP machines, tracheostomy care and standards.
  • Organizes and prioritizes tasks and projects; accurately completes position responsibilities within specified time constraints.
  • Ability to effectively educate families and peers.
  • Professionally interactions with staff, guest, visitors, volunteers, co-workers, supervisors, physicians, contract staff, vendors in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful and cooperative. This behavior supports an atmosphere of teamwork that is congruent with facility standards and guidelines to promote positive relations.
  • Adapts to changes necessitated by patients/staff situations.
  • Seeks assistance as needed.

Qualifications

  • Complete familiarity with duties and scope of practice.
  • Highly developed observation skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Current State Respiratory Therapy license
  • CRRT, RRT or completion of a two-year program in respiratory therapy technology
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience, within the last 5 years
  • CPR required, ACLS preferred
  • Healthcare provider for AHA BLS required
  • Basic to advanced computer skills, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able to tactfully communicate with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
