We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Food Safety & Sanitation Manager – Pest Control & Compliance to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring cleaning, sanitation, and pest control protocols across all Nassau Candy manufacturing plants, equipment, and distribution centers nationwide.

Reporting to the VP of R&D and Technical Services, this position ensures regulatory compliance and a hygienic environment that meets Local, State, Federal, Customer, and Internal Inspection Standards.

How You'll Make An Impact Sanitation Protocols

  • Develop and maintain Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) to meet FSMA, SQF, and customer requirements.
  • Manage the Master Cleaning Schedule, ensuring timely and accurate task completion.
  • Conduct regular site inspections across all NY facilities to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure complete documentation of all sanitation and pest control activities.

Pest Control Management:

  • Oversee a robust Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program to monitor, identify, and address pest issues.
  • Analyze trends and create proactive action plans to maintain compliance.

Training & Compliance:

  • Conduct employee training on sanitation, hygiene, and cross-contamination prevention.
  • Stay current on FSMA, FDA, SQF, and cGMP regulations and participate in audit preparations.
  • Represent the company during audits by regulatory bodies (FDA, NY State, SQF).

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Manage companywide sanitation and pest control teams, including scheduling and performance management.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC and Operations teams to align food safety and sanitation strategies.
  • Provide support to production planning, including weekends as needed.

Inventory & Crisis Management:

  • Order and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, sanitizers, PPE, etc.
  • Manage and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals used.
  • Develop crisis management protocols for sanitation or pest control incidents.

We're Excited About You Because:

You have 10+ years of experience in sanitation and food safety in food, beverage, or OTC manufacturing.

You bring expert knowledge of sanitation standards and compliance protocols.

You’ve led large teams and managed performance and scheduling.

You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field (a plus, not required).

You’re a strong communicator and highly collaborative across teams.

You’re self-motivated, dependable, and work well with minimal supervision.
