  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience in networking, software-defined networking, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration, load balancing, DNS, or virtual private networks.
  • Experience in networking with an emphasis on Content Delivery Networks (CDN) or Web Application Firewalls (WAF).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and implementing complex network infrastructure for distributed systems, while migrating application to the cloud.
  • Experience with core networking services (e.g. DNS, DHCP, NTP) or protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, etc.).
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) or DevOps methodologies for managing and deploying IT infrastructure.
  • Experience in troubleshooting performance and connectivity issues, as well as network security principles, protocols, and best practices.

As a Customer Engineer, you will accelerate Google Cloud customer success by providing domain-specific technical expertise, while responsibly influencing products and solutions.

You will partner with technical Sales teams as a networking subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will use your expertise and presentation skills to engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and persuasively present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Support technical relationships with clients and partners, including product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partner directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting adoption of Google Cloud.
  • Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices on Google Cloud.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events.
  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand potential technical objections and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers using Content Delivery Network (CDN) or Web Application Firewall (WAF) technical skills.
