VICE-PRESIDENT, CORPORATE CONTROLLER

This individual is responsible for all Accounting-related activities, including high level accounting, managerial accounting and financial activities within the Company. This individual plays a leading role in the creation, implementation and monitoring of the company's annual budget and related performance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversees the production of financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points.
  • Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts, and statements to understand the financial state of business.
  • Monitor the company’s financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs. Keep up-to-date on financial markets to understand how to maximize profits. Understand the financials of the Company in order to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state of the Company in good standing.
  • Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions. Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
  • Working with external auditors and providing necessary information for annual and related financial audits.
  • Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes.
  • Overseeing regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, retention, and organization of all department staff in accordance with the company hiring process, personnel policies, and budget requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge And Skill Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, preferably in financial services industries with 3+ years in a supervisory/management capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Ability to negotiate, review and understand complex financial documentation as well as create and analyze cash flow models and review and understand financial statements.
  • Ability to interact with others in a professional, tactful, and sensitive manner.
  • Strong leadership skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, planning and organizing, decision making and delegation with the ability to manage and direct the work of others.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated experience in data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
