We're looking for an experienced Location Designer to create environments and set designs for an unannounced 2D Kids & Family project at Disney Television Animation!
What You Will Do
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
The pay rate for this role in California is $56.88 to $60.33 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. We're looking for an experienced Location Designer to create environments and set designs for an unannounced 2D Kids & Family project at Disney Television Animation!
What You Will Do
- Work closely with the Art Director and/or Location Design Lead to create scene set designs, floor plans, and orthographic designs with multiple angles as needed.
- Review storyboard panels to create rough designs of backgrounds required for the episode. Review designs with Art director and Location Design Lead to revise designs as needed. Provide final clean version of approved design.
- Resolve design problems with Supervisors.
- Adhere to the production schedule provided by the Line Producer to ensure cost effective, timely production.
- Additional duties as necessary, or as defined by individual contracts.
- A robust portfolio of Location Designs for animated shows - including knowledge of architecture, set design, perspective, and the understanding of dynamic space (foreground, middle ground, background)
- Proven ability to align to the style and sensibility of a particular show.
- Knowledge of drawing software including Photoshop, Illustrator, and 3D technology, where applicable.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude with the ability to take creative feedback and address notes.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Previous experience working in a 2D Kids & Family animation pipeline
