We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager, to oversee all aspects of our business operations within the North Dakota region. This role is critical to achieving sales, service, and operational excellence while driving market share, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

The essential duties of this job are such that the employee is classified according to the FLSA as an Exempt employee.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive regional business plans aligned with Ascendum’s overall strategy.
- Set sales targets, identify market opportunities, and manage budgets to meet profitability goals.
- Lead and motivate a team of sales representatives to generate leads, build strong customer relationships, negotiate deals, and close sales across various market segments.
- Drive regional sales initiatives to expand market presence and revenue.
- Maintain and enhance key customer relationships, understand their needs, and provide exceptional service.
- Resolve customer issues effectively while fostering long-term partnerships.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, analyze competitors, and uncover new opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to tailor regional strategies.
- Oversee efficient operations, including distribution channels, parts inventory, and service delivery.
- Ensure the region meets or exceeds performance metrics for service and support.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing regional team, including sales representatives and service technicians.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor sales and operational performance, analyze financial reports, and identify areas for cost optimization.
- Ensure regional profitability and financial targets are consistently achieved.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, legal regulations, and safety standards within the region.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and/or Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in business; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Computer Skills: The employee can use the equipment and software required to accomplish the responsibilities of this position. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated success in a leadership role overseeing regional operations.
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams in a dynamic environment.
- Extensive experience in the construction, mining, and/or forestry equipment industry, including an understanding of market dynamics and competition.
- Exceptional customer relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust and foster long-term partnerships.
- Strong analytical skills to develop data-driven regional strategies and execute them effectively.
- Proficiency in managing budgets, analyzing financial performance, and optimizing costs to ensure profitability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with customers, team members, and senior leadership.
- Proficiency in business systems and tools, including CRM software and reporting platforms.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
- While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
- The position requires the ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods.
- This position requires the ability to stoop, bend, climb and crawl without restrictions.
- The position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to safely operate and drive a vehicle to meetings and events.
