Position Summary

The Executive Director/CEO serves as the senior leader, ensuring the organization adheres to the highest standards of excellence, integrity, and accountability in achieving its mission. This individual is responsible for strategic planning, standards development, program implementation, business development, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement. The Executive Director drives innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth, while maintaining compliance with industry standards, ethical practices, and regulatory requirements.

What you will be doing:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement company vision, mission, and strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives to ensure high-quality outcomes and continuous improvement.
  • Identify growth opportunities while maintaining a focus on compliance and operational excellence.

Operational Management

  • Manage communications to establish and maintain leadership in advanced wireless markets/technologies, evangelize programs and services, and support the business objectives of membership.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring policies, procedures, and systems meet organizational and industry benchmarks.
  • Establish and uphold standards of operational efficiency, transparency, and ethical conduct.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and collaboration within the organization.
  • Perform supervisory control of staff and consultants, to include hire and termination authority, as well as evaluation and corrective action functions, to maximize service delivery to members within the context of the annual budget.
  • Negotiate terms of employment and service contracts.

Advocacy and Industry Leadership

  • Advocate for the consortium’s initiatives and policies, ensuring alignment with industry standards and ethical principles.
  • Stay informed on emerging wireless trends, regulations, and opportunities within the areas of influence, positioning the organization as a trusted leader and honest broker.
  • Promote and uphold the companies role as a thought leader in the wireless industry, as well as a resource for members and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with other similar organizations in the wireless industry to ensure collaboration as necessary on issues of mutual interest and participation.
  • Work with regulators such as the FCC to arrange meetings with members as needed and follow up as required.

Financial Oversight

  • Ensure responsible fiscal management through rigorous budgeting, financial planning, and reporting that meets both organizational goals and financial standards.
  • Identify and secure diverse funding sources, maintaining financial sustainability and ethical fundraising practices.
  • Monitor and manage financial risks while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Board of Directors, ensuring timely and accurate communication of organizational performance and adherence to governance standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, funders, and strategic partners.
  • Represent at public forums, conferences, and industry events, consistently upholding a reputation for integrity and professionalism.


About you

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a technical field; advanced degree in business, public administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in the wireless industry, with a preference for experience with spectrum sharing
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit, consortium, or member-driven organization including Certified Association Executive certification.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing programs and policies that align with industry standards and best practices.
  • PMP certification or equivalent.

Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a commitment to upholding high ethical standards.
  • Strong knowledge of the wireless industry and relevant commercial and governmental players
  • Experience coordinating disparate membership interests and goals into consensus-based direction and action.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets with transparency and accountability.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships, secure funding, and sustain organizational growth.
