FedChem, Inc., a subsidiary of FPC International, Inc. is seeking a motivated, technically savvy, and strong problem solver to join our team. In this role, the Jr. Research Chemist is responsible for the participation, testing, and development of Kolate products. This position will develop an in-depth understanding of FedChem’s products and their chemistries, as well as proficiency in testing chemical raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods.

Location: 275 Keystone Dr., Bethlehem, PA (in-office)
Work Schedule: Day shift (M-F, 8 hours/day)
Team Dynamics: On a team with other key contributors - Research Chemists, Operations & Sales.
The Ideal Candidate will have: Experience in basic lab instrumentation, solid documentation skills and ability to work and communicate well at all levels within the organization.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Conducts experiments under the guidance of senior researchers.
- Maintains accurate and detailed records of experimental procedures and results.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support research projects and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
- Assists in the evaluation of new and existing products and customer formulations for performance, cost and efficiency.
- Stays current on relevant scientific literature and developments in the field.
- Learns and performs proprietary and standard methods of physical testing and chemical analyses.
- Participates in onsite activities such as ISO, Safety Programs, special projects, assisting with training, etc.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field.
- Must have a minimum of one to three (1-3) years of experience in a chemical laboratory setting.
- Experience in GC, FTIR, Flashpoint tester, Refractometer, Karl Fischer analyzer, Particle Size analyzer and wet chemistry methods.
