Description

DBA role with comprehensive responsibilities covering the full spectrum of database administration. The focus on day-to-day operations, production support, backup and recovery, as well as ensuring robust policies and procedures for database management, security, and utilization, will be critical for maintaining system integrity.

Administration of relational databases which includes day to administration, production support, back up and recover and monitoring the establishment of policies and procedures pertaining to database management, security, maintenance and utilization. Maintains integrity of files, file structures, databases, objects, processes, etc.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA), SQL Server to join our dynamic team. The SQL DBA will be responsible for administering SQL Server databases, supporting production environments, and ensuring data integrity, security, and performance. This role is crucial to maintaining our organization's commitment to efficiency and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer SQL Server databases, including day-to-day operations, production support, and backup/recovery processes.
  • Establish and monitor policies and procedures for database management, security, maintenance, and utilization.
  • Maintain the integrity of files, file structures, databases, objects, and processes.
  • Configure and support complex architectures, including Always On Clusters.
  • Write complex stored procedures, triggers, batch scripts, and shell scripts.
  • pay grade 15 range 96,319.82-144,479.7275 Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SQL Server database environments.
  • Hands-on experience in database administration, supporting production environments.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, Perl, and advanced relational database programming languages.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, system utilities, and software products.
  • Expertise in database backup/recovery methodologies and advanced configurations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a shared leadership environment and manage competing priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area and five (5) or more years of related experience in one or more relational database environments. Hands-on database administration experience in support of production environments and strong database language programming skills.
  • Five (5) or more years’ knowledge and experience of host operating systems, advanced relational database programming languages, system utilities, software products, and related hardware.
  • Ability to write complex stored procedures, triggers, batch and shell scripts. Strong background using relational database management and development tools and technologies.
  • Proficiency in database backup and recovery methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills for solving complex database problems, developing standards and procedures, and long-range planning.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with end users, TIS staff, and vendors. Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with people of differing professional backgrounds.
  • Ability to technically lead projects, manage several projects at one time, prioritize multiple tasks, and function well in an environment of competing priorities and in crisis situations.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Physical And Mental Requirements And Working Conditions

  • This position operates in a typical office environment. The area is well-lit, temperature-controlled and free from hazards.
  • Incumbent communicates frequently, in person and over the telephone, with people in a number of different locations on technical issues.
  • Manual dexterity is needed in order to operate a keyboard. Hearing is needed for extensive telephone and in person communications.
  • The environment in which the incumbent will work requires the ability to concentrate, meet deadlines, work on several projects at the same period and adapt to interruptions.
  • The incumbent must be capable of traveling in the course of completing project assignments.
  • Must be able to set and organize own work priorities, and adapt to them as they change frequently.
  • Must be able to travel to the various Trinity Health sites as needed (may or may not apply).
  • Participates on call rotation for 24 x 7 database support.
  • Must be available for on site and remote off hour support for major events as required.
